a green Xmas and quick hits
I hope y’all had a much more enjoyable festive season than I did. See, I spent the last 3 1/2 days in bed with severe gastro of the type you really don’t want to hear the details of. Kindly doc at the ER provided me with plentiful amounts of anti-nausea and anti-other stuff medication which kind of took the edge of the indignity of it all but certainly didn’t put an end to it. Today I managed to stay out of bed for more than an hour at a time (and also out of the bathroom) so today was a better today. Hopefully, tomorrow is better still.
Needless to say, I have little of substance to share with you but here are some quick hits for your perusal…
Apparently the trinkets that come with take out meals for kids do not foster ‘pester power’
FAST FOOD companies can continue to give away toys based on well-known cartoon characters with junk food meals because they do not constitute pester power, the advertising watchdog has ruled in a decision that health food campaigners say is ”illogical”.
In an effort to slim down the national obesity crisis in England, Britain’s National Health Service has launched fat-fighting classes targeting families with young kids, including those just barely out of diapers.
Today while reading a story with one of the PreK students I work with, she stopped me in the middle of the book to ask me a question.
“Am I fat?” she asked.
“No.” I said.
“Am I skinny?” she asked.
“You know what?” I said, “Everyone looks different. And that’s ok..”

Owwww! Get better quickly!
